Sarah Lee grew up in New Mexico and graduated from Sandia High School. She married her high school sweetheart and they have two children. She received her BA in Psychology from Drury College in Springfield, MO and her MA in Marriage and Family Therapy from Christian Theological Seminary in Indianapolis, IN. She continued her professional development through a post-graduate degree internship at the McFarland Institute in New Orleans, LA. Sarah went back to Indiana to work with adolescents and their families before getting licensed as a Marriage and Family Therapist.
While Sarah’s formal training is as a therapist, she quickly went up the ranks while working at a large non-profit counseling center in Albuquerque. She went through two certificate programs and honed her leadership skills. After seven years, and four promotions, she was eventually promoted to the position of President and CEO. She stayed in that role for almost four years.
Sarah brings clinical knowledge and hands on administrative leadership to her role as a Chief Operations Officer for Awake and Aware. She is committed to seeing lives being changed through quality mental health services in our community.
